Evil Eye-PA Resurrection

We yielded 13 - 22oz bombers and 31 - 12oz bottles, for at total of 658oz! Just over 5 gallons. This one tasted a little sweeter and not so hoppy, it was also a little darker than a traditional IPA. We’ll see. It might be the 1.5 lb of crystal malt we added, maybe we should drop it to half a pound and go with 16lbs of the American 2row Pale.

EvilEYE-PA - Round 2

We just brewed a new batch of IPA. It’s a modified version of our sucessful Evil EYE-PA recipe. Our last batch was really good but, even though it had the characteristics of a good IPA, it was missing something. Brewmaster Justin tweeked our recipe to hopefully bring more taste to the palate.

Out of all our brewing sessions this was definitely the warmest (about 90-95 degrees), well it was the end of June. This brew kept us up and drinking til about 2am. Thats when a taxi cab came to take our drunk asses home.

Here are some pics with descriptions of the complete process.

Ohh and on a final note. Since we all hate pigeons and usually shoot them durning the day when we are waiting for the grains to mash or the wort to boil. We kept the tradition of always shooting something (or someone) with the BB Gun. You gotta see this video!

Blood Red & Suicide Blonde Coasters

Once again using my new Print Gocco machine, I used black presentation board instead of the kraft chipboard I used on the Evil EYE-PA coasters. The ink soaked into the cardboard a little more than I wanted, but in the end it made on heck of a coaster.

Rhonda’s photos really capture the process and she snapped some cool shots of the finshed prints.

I frick’n love this gocco.

Back to Back Brewing A Blonde & A Irish Red Ale

At the end of January we brewed back to back. A Irish Red Ale we named “BLOOD Red” and a Blonde we called “Suicide Blonde. I think they sounded like 2 beers brewed from Dead Piegon Brewing.

Here’s Justin doing the heavy lifting about to add hot boiling to our grains.

Probably the best part of this day was Justin hunting Les like a wild animal in the jungle. CLICK HERE to see.

Using the Print Gocco machine 4” x 6” screen printer Rhonda game me for Christmas I printed drink coasters.

It is almost now a tradition for me to design a logo and print coasters of each batch we brew reguardless if the beer comes out good.

Evil EYE-PA :: Label Party

Evil EYE-PA our first batch in December came out AWESOME, clean, crisp and hoppy.

I designed a few slightly differernt labels to apply during the bottling process. IMO - this is the best part, well except for drinking it of course.

Here’s what the label party looked like (Click to see more)

What’s with Dead Pigeon Brew? There is nothing better to do during the hours of the beer making process besides drink beer and shoot pigeons with a Bee Bee gun.
Justin, Les and I brewed our first batch back in December, an IPA. We used Justin’s equipment with the help of Les’s turkey fryer, in the backyard of the Dunagan’s.
